The Hořec Center and how it all began...

This timeless building was constructed at the beginning of the 20th century. While it may not be the oldest building in Malá Úpa, it is certainly unique. Since time immemorial, Hořec has been visited by tourists who stayed overnight and enjoyed the restaurant's services. Hořec enjoyed popularity and high visitor numbers.

As time passed, the building reflected the passage of time – minor alterations, changes of ownership, etc.

The building needed renovation – and not just minor repairs. There was even speculation about demolition. But luck was on Hořec's side – the building is now undergoing a complete renovation. The original plan was to restore the hotel and enjoy every guest who stayed there. Fate took a different turn...

The Magic of Hořec

Not only a unique place, but also an architectural gem. Architects have worked and continue to work with the idea of preserving the original look enriched by modern features that will not disrupt the character of Malá Úpa. The less demolition, the better. The building’s transformation is not radical at first glance – until you step inside.

On the ground floor, there is a ski equipment rental, service, and background for the ski school. In summer, the rental offers summer equipment instead of ski equipment, and you can rent e-bikes here.

On the first floor, you will find the newly opened Café with a stylish Shop offering local products and souvenirs. This year, a new modern Cinema Hall will also open, where we will hold regular film screenings for children and adults.
