Access Routes
The SKiMU ski resort is located in the village of Malá Úpa in the eastern Krkonoše Mountains, near the Polish border.
From Prague, you can reach us via the D11/E67 motorway towards Hradec Králové, which will take you past the center of Hradec Králové and direct you to Jaroměř, then Trutnov and Malá Úpa (see Google Maps).
From Prague, you can also take road 10/E65 towards Mladá Boleslav, then through Jiřín, Nová Paka, Vrchlabí to Malá Úpa (see Google Maps).
From Liberec, head towards Železný Brod, Semily, Jilemnice, Vrchlabí, and then to Malá Úpa (see Google Maps).
Road Conditions
Malá Úpa is quite simply a mountain resort with everything you could wish for. So be prepared to arrive on an unsalted road, which you can easily manage with the right equipment.
- The road is in the 3rd zone of KRNAP
- Ruts and "washboard" surfaces are caused by salt falling from passing cars and chains on tires.
- Due to weather conditions and temperature changes, the road can freeze and ice may form.
