Bike trails

Not only is the Malá Úpa area a paradise for hikers, but it is also attractive for cyclists. There are several cycling trails in the area, not just for mountain and trekking bikes, but also for road bikes.

At the Hořec Centre you can rent Scott brand e-bikes (rental is only available for guests of our Partners). You can get a map of Krkonoše cycling trips at the Malá Úpa Information Centre. Information about Krkonoše cycle buses can be found on the Cycle Buses page.

Lvíčák

[10.5 km/350 m]

The trail offers some of the most beautiful views, but paradoxically, it is the least visited place in the Krkonoše Mountains. Perhaps this is due to the long climb that starts at Spálený mlýn and leads to Kosa, the highest point of the trail. From here, there is a beautiful view of Sněžka and Růžová hora. The route continues downhill through Šímovy chalupy, around Nikolov důl and Seidlův důl, and returns via Žacléřské boudy. From here, you can head back to Spálený mlýn or, on the other side, to Pomezky.

Emina Trail

[5.8 km/230 m]

If you stay in the Krkonoše Mountains for a while longer, Emina cesta will become your favorite route. Set off from Spálený mlýn towards Maršov. It is a typical forest road without any significant elevation changes, perfectly maintained in summer. During the ride, you will come across at least two sections in the forest with beautiful views of the foothills of the Krkonoše Mountains. Emina cesta ends below Stará hora and connects there to the official cycle path no. 25 leading from the trail along Dlouhý hřeben.

Krakonoš's Route

[63 km/1775 m; MTB]

Since time immemorial, people have believed that the Krkonoše Mountains are ruled by a powerful spirit called Krakonoš, also known as Rýbrcoul. He is said to hide in a dark valley below Sněžka called Obří důl (Giant's Mine). He teases travelers and protects the poor and honest from the greedy and insatiable. When he is in a gloomy mood or angry at people, he sends bad weather. Above all, he cares for all the trees, flowers, and wildlife, ensuring that they thrive in his domain and protecting them from human greed. Krakonoš is good at managing his estate, if only people didn't spoil it for him sometimes... Our journey will take you on a short tour of his estate. (Via Bike arena Krkonoše)

Spálený Mlýn – Výrovka

[37.9 km/661 m]

A pleasant one-day trip around Malá Úpa will surely suit you. The trail starts in Dolní Malá Úpa, Spálený Mlýn and continues through Janovy Boudy to Pec pod Sněžkou. Refreshments are available at every cabin and cottage you pass. Along the way, you will pass Lesní Bouda, Chata na Rozcestí, Výrovka, Richterovy Boudy, and return via Pec pod Sněžkou and Janovy Boudy to Dolní Malá Úpa and Spálený Mlýn. (Via Výletník)

Krkonoše Path (Around the Krkonoše)

[143 km/2733 m]

This road bike route allows you to see the Krkonoše Mountains from literally all sides. It will take you through mountain resorts and historic towns at the foot of the mountains. On the Czech side, you will surely be captivated by the beautiful mountain landscape with log cabins in Malá Úpa and the picturesque Jizera Valley. On the Polish side, you will not want to miss the unique wooden Wang Church in Karpacz, brought here all the way from Norway, or the beautiful waterfalls around Sklarska Poręba. You will cross the border mountains in two passes, which, in addition to the scenic experience, is also a decent sporting achievement. (Via Bike arena Krkonoše)

Podkrkonoší Path
