Bike Buses
To make the Krkonoše Mountains more accessible to cyclists, some lines will also transport bicycles during the summer season. Don't ride your bike uphill, use the bike buses and, in some places, even cable cars. You can enjoy beautiful rides along the mountain peaks and long descents into the valley without getting tired. The regular transport price lists of the individual line operators apply on the lines. You can use six bus lines and two train connections.
Cycle buses operate from May 25 to September 30. In June, cycle buses run only on Saturdays and Sundays. In July and August, they run every day. In September, they run on Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. Seats on the bus cannot be reserved.
Line 1 (main line, red): Harrachov-Rokytnice, Benecko, Vrchlabí, Janské Lázně, Pec pod Sněžkou – Malá Úpa, Pomezní boudy.
The main line connects with the following transfer lines:
- Line 2: Jilemnice – Horní Mísečky
- Line 3: Vrchlabí – Špindlerův Mlýn – Špindlerova bouda
- Line 4: Úpice – Trutnov – Mladé Buky – Svoboda nad Úpou – Pec pod Sněžkou – Pomezní boudy
- Line 5: Žacléř – Trutnov
- Line 6: Hradec Králové – Vrchlabí
Another option is to visit Poland. The morning bike bus from Vrchlabí heads to the border crossing at Špindlerova bouda. From there, you can bike to Szklarska Poręba in Poland and back to Harrachov in the Czech Republic, or take the other route via Karpacz to Pomezní Boudy. From both locations, you can take the Krkonoše bike bus back in the evening.
