K2: My Own Way (film)
The story of Klára Kolouchová, the first Czech woman and only the twentieth woman in the world to summit the world’s most feared mountain. Directed by Jana Počtová. Overcoming personal limits and a deep inner journey are as important in “K2: My Own Way” as the actual climb. “K2 was just a metaphor for Klára’s inner goal. The film is about the fragile search for balance between responsibilities, the hard-to-explain desire to conquer the unconquerable, and the need to defy social expectations,” says director Jana Počtová.
It’s windy up there – after the screening, a talk with Klára will follow.
Why would someone, standing at a crossroads, choose the harder path? How important is it to work with fear in life? And how far are the peaks of the highest mountains from life’s personal summits? You’ll have a chance to discuss all this with Klára Kolouchová, who will also bring her new book “It’s Windy Up There”.
