Travel Lecture with Radka Tkáčiková
February 14, 2024 at Centrum Hořec
7:30 PM – 9:00 PM / Admission: 200 CZK
A trek beneath the world’s second-highest mountain – K2 – in the wild and untamed Karakoram. The Baltoro Glacier, majestic peaks like Broad Peak, Masherbrum, and the Cathedral group, as well as Nanga Parbat, the westernmost eight-thousander of the Himalayas, and the tough life of local people. Culture and efforts to develop isolated areas, including education. The Karakoram Highway alongside the mighty Indus River.
In the second part, we’ll take you to Nepal under the highest mountain in the world – Mt. Everest. The access trekking route here is the complete opposite of the one under K2. Cultural and religious contrasts, yet equally kind people. A look at the history of climbing both peaks.
