To Sněžka only from Malá Úpa

To Sněžka from Malá Úpa

Sněžka is one of the most visited places in the Czech Republic. And it's no wonder – it's the highest mountain in the Czech Republic, with unique nature and the magic of the Krkonoše Mountains.

Before you set off for Sněžka, we recommend  carefully plan your trip according to your abilities and the weather. Don't forget that although the Krkonoše Mountains are low compared to the Alps, the weather here can change from minute to minute and sometimes surprise us all.

Which route to take?

There are several options — depending on whether you prefer a longer, more challenging, or easier route.

Our favourite – the blue trail

The blue-marked trail is a so-called ridge route. Part of the trail follows the Czech–Polish border with views of Karpacz. Along the way, you’ll climb Malá Úpa’s thousand-meter peak Tabule (1,284 m) – one of the most stunning views of Sněžka. The trail continues with a gentle ascent to Jelenka, then to Svorová hora, and finally to Sněžka. The whole trail is around 8 km long.

Yellow trail

This route is suitable for wheelchairs and mothers with strollers. The entire route follows an asphalt road through the forest, which will take you to Jelenka. You cannot reach Sněžka with a stroller or wheelchair. Continue along the red trail.

Red trail

A gentle route that starts at Pomezní budy and heads towards Ski House across the ski slope into the forest. A very pleasant route. The trail is about 7 km long.
